16 Sep Severe Earthquake

The Salidraa juj team travelled to Morocco in early September to conduct scenario development workshops with residents of the Draa catchment area in Skoura and Zagora. The first stop was Marrakech to meet the whole team and finalise the preparations for the workshop.

Shortly before landing in Marrakech late on the 8th of September, the severe earthquake in the High Atlas occurred, causing thousands of deaths and injuries and destroying buildings and entire villages. After dealing with the initial tremors, the situation for the project was analysed together with the colleagues. Finally, we decided to postpone the workshop, prioritising the support of the affected people.

We wish all those affected much strength to cope with the consequences of the earthquake!
