Ecological Field Trip And Confluence Study

In June 2022, a further field trip was conducted to collect samples from the previous visited sampling sites, covering the middle of the dry season. While this field campaign was the for now last one to visit all the sites selected already in February 2020, three confluences were added to the list to follow a new objective. The aim of this objective was to compare a fresh and a salty tributary at a confluence in order to study the effects of salinity on community composition of benthic algae and macroinvertebrates. During the field trip, both, falling-dry rivers and big floods following heavy rains, complicated sampling. However, important data was collected.
